01Education system that is both free and required

Since 2017, Hong Kong's free and compulsory education system has included three years of early childhood education, six years of primary education, three years of junior secondary education, and three years of senior secondary education (3 years). 03 How to Return to the Mainland While Having Hong Kong Status

Hong Kong high school graduates have several options for transferring to Mainland colleges.

The Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination is one of them (HKDSE). Applicants with a Hong Kong Permanent Identification Card or a Non-permanent Identity Card, a Hong Kong and Macao Residents Entrance and Exit Permit to the Mainland, or a Hong Kong and Macao Residents Residence Permit are eligible to apply for the HKDSE.

1DSE results can be applied not only to Hong Kong institutions, but also to over 290 universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and Singapore.

2. DSE results can also be used to apply to 127 universities 香港大學排名in the Mainland under the Examination Free Admission Scheme for Hong Kong (including universities such as Qingbei Jiaofu). The DSE test is renowned for its low competitive pressure, high admittance ratio, low subject difficulty, and widespread reputation.

The Joint Examination for Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Overseas Chinese is the second. The number of candidates for the 2021 college entrance exams reached 10.78 million, according to Ministry of Education statistics, whereas the total number of applicants for the Joint Examination was just 4,339.

04 Hong Kong's top local universities
